From the top

On the corner of Marine Parade, you'll find a little booth where you pay your fare, step into the carriage, and get lowered down the incline to the pier. Top hats and crinoline dresses are optional.

On its way

There are actually two carriages; one goes up as the other comes down, crossing in the middle.
