Sunrise, 2nd July 2004

My Psion says the sun rises at 04:33 this morning, so I thought I'd go to the cliffs and have a look:

When I get there at around four, it is already light; the sun is still down, but there's an inferno happening on the horizon. Put the camera on the tripod and get the raincoat out (not rain, but cold wind).

At about half past, things are still pretty much the same, but the inferno is starting to get bigger, and being reflected off the clouds.

Then I blinked, and as I looked again, this fiery pingpong ball popped out of the water!

And within ten minutes, it was all done. No purple skies this morning, but the orange isn't too bad.
